Community First Bank honored with Sauk County Development Corporation Award.
05/18/2015
Community First Bank wins 2014 Large Business of the Year Award.

The Sauk County Development Corporation awarded Community First Bank with the “Large Business of the Year” award at its 23rd Annual Business Awards Ceremony on Wednesday, April 29th. The award is given to a Sauk County business that completes or realizes a significant achievement in one or both of the following categories: Recent Significant Business Accomplishments and/or Contributions to Enhance the Community.

In 2014 Community First Bank achieved a 5-star rating from Bauer Financial and established an Employee Stock Ownership Plan. Community First Bank President Dan Klahn comments, “For some time, we had been working on ownership succession planning to help ensure that Community First Bank remains a locally-owned community bank well into the future. The ESOP was an integral part of this plan. It also rewards our employees for their commitment to the bank, our customers and communities and provides other benefits that made the timing right to move forward with establishing it.” Community First Bank employees also logged more volunteer hours in 2014 than in previous years with contributions totaling over 2,020 hours – 759 of them in Reedsburg, Baraboo and the surrounding communities. Since 2007, the Reedsburg and Baraboo branches have donated over $83,750 to Sauk County non-profit organizations through our Community Giving Program.

Members of the CFB team were delighted to receive the award and honored to be recognized for their efforts. Community First Bank President, Dan Klahn, states, “I couldn’t be more proud of all of the Community First Bank staff; they demonstrate the true meaning of community giving and uphold the bank’s mission ‘to partner with our customers and communities to successfully achieve their goals.’” Community First Bank has five locations throughout southwest Wisconsin and is a prominent contributor within each of its locations through its Community Giving Program, giving help and giving hope.
